Apple is set to reduce its commission rates for the App Store in China following discussion with Chinese regulators, according to information obtained from the Apple Developer official website on Friday.

The standard commission rate for paid apps and in-app purchases on iPhone and iPad will be lowered from the current 30 percent to 25 percent.

For developers enrolled in the App Store Small Business Program, and those participating in the Mini Apps Partner Program, the commission rate for eligible in-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions after the first year will be reduced from 15 percent to 12 percent.

The new commission structure will take effect on March 15, 2026, and does not require developers to sign new terms, according to the announcement.

Apple stated that it is committed to maintaining fair and transparent terms for all developers and has always offered competitive App Store fees for developers distributing apps in China, which are not higher than the overall rates in other markets.
