Taiwan residents who open restaurants for Shaxian snacks, a style of cuisine from Shaxian district in Sanming, Fujian province, will receive a one-time 5,000 yuan ($707.8) entrepreneurship subsidy, authorities in Fujian announced recently.
The subsidy is part of 12 new policy measures released by Fujian authorities on Tuesday aimed at deepening cross-Strait exchange and fostering economic cooperation.
Shaxian snacks boast more than 200 varieties and were included on the list of national-level intangible cultural heritage representative items in 2021. They are a household name, with street stores open nationwide.
