Senior Xinjiang official probed for suspected breach of discipline, law

BEIJING -- Chen Weijun, executive vice-chairman of the local government of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, is under probe for suspected severe violations of Party discipline and the law, an official statement said Sunday.
The case of Chen is being investigated by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision, the statement said.
