Sino-foreign youth dialogue promotes mutual understanding in Nanning

Scholars from Peking University, Wuhan University, and Guangxi University joined more than 20 international youth delegates and media representatives for a dialogue on Saturday to deepen mutual understanding in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region. The delegates came from countries including the United Kingdom, Italy, Argentina, and Vietnam.

Hosted at Guangxi University, the Sino-Foreign Youth Marxist Dialogue aimed to build consensus through the exchange of ideas, forge friendships via cultural mutual learning, and promote cross-civilization communication.

Leonel Octavio Predut, an Argentine youth representative, summed up his China experience with three unexpected discoveries. "I never expected a smartphone could handle all daily needs, never expected Nanning to blend modernity and tradition so seamlessly, and most surprisingly, never expected an auntie who didn't speak English would walk me for 10 minutes to find my destination when I got lost," he said.

Zin Nway Hlaing, a Burmese international trade student, shared her ambition to bridge understanding between her homeland and China. "I want Burmese youth to know China is not just a technological and economic power, but also a cultural powerhouse," she said.

Ahead of the dialogue, the delegates and media attendees traveled to Baise, a city in western Guangxi known for its revolutionary history, to explore its cultural and tourism attractions.
