To better facilitate the upcoming China International Import Expo, a series of CIIE Shanghai events and conferences will be held to further optimize and expand the expo's continued effect, officials announced during a news conference on Oct 25.
"The CIIE Shanghai events and conferences will be held from November 6 through November 9," said Zhu Min, deputy secretary-general of the Shanghai Municipal Government. "They will consist of an investment promotion conference, two sub-forums of the Hongqiao International Economic Forum, and more than 100 sideline activities."
"The events and conferences are designed to offer a high-level interactive platform for global exhibitors, investors, and experts, and to promote high-level open collaboration," added Zhu, who is also director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce.
"Building on last year's success, this year's CIIE Shanghai events and conferences will focus on serving national strategies, extending the expo's long-term impact, and showcasing Shanghai's charm and attractions," said Luo Zhisong, chief economist of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce.
According to Luo, this year's events seek to significantly expand the breadth and depth of international participation, comprehensively enhance the quality of interactions, achieve more practical results, and provide constantly optimized services and support measures.
