Enterprises relocating to Xiong'an New Area take new step

The relocation of non-capital functions from Beijing to neighboring Xiong'an New Area in Hebei province has steadily advanced with a series of landmark projects taking shape.
In the latest move, Jingjinji (Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei) Intercity Railway Investment, a subsidiary of China State Railway Group, relocated from Beijing to Xiong'an on Friday.
The company's main responsibility is to construct intercity railway projects within the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. Its presence is expected to boost local development and enhance regional rail connectivity through its management of multiple intercity railway projects, authorities said.
Before the latest move, two centrally-administered State-owned enterprises (SOEs), China Huaneng Group and Sinochem Holdings, relocated their headquarters to Xiong'an on Thursday. They are among the first central SOEs to move to the new area.
The transition of other major State-owned enterprises to Xiong'an continues to show progress.
To ensure a smooth transition and long-term development for relocated personnel and enterprises, Xiong'an has implemented a series of supporting measures in housing, education, and healthcare, local authorities said.
