New Party chief for Inner Mongolia appointed

BEIJING -- The Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee has appointed Wang Weizhong as new Party chief for the Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Wang Weizhong, born in March 1962 in Shuozhou, Shanxi province, joined the Communist Party of China in October 1983.
After graduating from the Tsinghua University, Wang started his career in the former ministry of water resources and electric power.
In December 2021, Wang was appointed secretary of the leading Party group and acting governor of the Guangdong Provincial Government. He was elected governor of the People's Government of Guangdong Province in January 2022.
Sun Shaocheng will no longer serve as secretary of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Committee of the CPC.
