Li to attend general debate of 80th session of UN General Assembly
Premier Li Qiang will attend the general debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York from Monday to Friday, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian.
While in New York, Li will also attend events held by China, including the high-level meeting on the Global Development Initiative, and meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and leaders of relevant countries, Lin said.
Li will elaborate on China's views on the current international landscape, major global issues and the work of the UN, Lin said at a regular news briefing on Friday.
The Chinese premier will also expound on China's domestic and foreign policies as well as China's major proposals, such as the Global Governance Initiative.
Lin expressed China's readiness to take this visit as an opportunity to work with all parties to revisit the founding mission of the UN, reaffirm commitment to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter, and help revitalize the global body's authority and vitality in the new era.
