Death toll rises to 5 amid heavy rains in Inner Mongolia's Ordos

HOHHOT -- Five people have been killed in torrential rains that struck several banners and districts in Ordos city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region since Monday, local authorities said on Thursday.
Three people previously reported missing in the Dalad Banner of Ordos have been located -- two are confirmed dead and one has been rescued. The survivor is in stable condition and under observation at Ordos Central Hospital. Three other people were found dead in floodwaters early Tuesday morning in the city's Dongsheng district.
Local authorities are handling the aftermath and conducting investigations.
