KIEV -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he had discussed expectations for the upcoming US-Russia meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

According to Zelensky's post on Telegram on Thursday, Ukraine and Britain coordinated their positions and exchanged views on the prospects of the upcoming meeting in the US state of Alaska.

The two leaders discussed in detail possible security guarantees for Ukraine that could ensure a durable peace deal if a ceasefire is reached.

Zelensky also noted that Ukraine is preparing to ratify a 100-year partnership agreement with Britain this month, which aims to deepen defense cooperation and enhance economic and trade relations between the two nations.

US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are scheduled to meet on Friday in Anchorage, the largest city in Alaska, to discuss potential solutions to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
