Shandong enterprise illuminates Pamir Plateau, Tajikistan

The Badakhshan integrated renewable energy project by Shandong Electrical Engineering & Equipment Group Co Ltd (SDEE) was recently commissioned on the Pamir Plateau in Tajikistan. This pioneering project is the first in the country to combine wind power, solar power, and energy storage, with SDEE responsible for the projects overall design, supply, construction, commissioning and operations.
Featuring 30 distributed wind and solar energy power storage stations across 22 cities and towns in Badakhshan province, the project replaces fossil fuels with clean energy, increasing the local energy shortage capacity. In addition, it is expected to save approximately 5,000 metric tons of standard coal annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 14,000 tons. This will reduce the erosion of glaciers on the Pamir Plateau caused by greenhouse gas emissions.
