The Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that China is willing to maintain communication and consultation with India to facilitate personnel exchanges between the two countries after India resumed issuing tourist visas to Chinese citizens following a five-year hiatus.

Speaking at a daily news briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun said China has taken note of the positive measure, adding that it helps promote the facilitation of personnel exchanges and is in line with the common interests of all parties.

The official Weibo account of the Indian Embassy in China released visa application guidelines on Wednesday, stating that, starting from July 24, Chinese citizens can apply for tourist visas to visit India.
