Former natl defense technology official under probe

Zhang Jianhua, former deputy head of the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of the Communist Party of China's discipline and national laws, the country's top anti-corruption watchdogs said.
The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision announced the investigation on Wednesday, revealing that Zhang turned himself in to the authorities.
Public information showed that Zhang, 63, a native of Jiangsu province, started his career in 1983 and joined the Party in May 1986. Before the investigation, he had worked for the country's national defense system for decades.
