Tianjin showcases investment opportunities to UK businesses

A conference introducing investment opportunities in North China's Tianjin to businesses in the United Kingdom was held in London last Thursday.
Hosted by the Tianjin municipal government, the event attracted nearly 200 attendees from various sectors of the Chinese and British political and business communities. Three UK companies signed cooperation agreements with the Tianjin's local authorities and firms to collaborate in the areas of economy, capital, technology, and education.
Tianjin, one of the four municipalities directly under the central government, is the largest port city in northern China and serves as a key gateway to Beijing with its advantageous geographical location.
In the first quarter of 2025, the city's GDP grew by 5.8 percent year-on-year, hitting 419.43 billion yuan ($57.56 billion), according to the municipal bureau of statistics.
