Quality power services help enterprises cut costs and improve efficiency

In early April, State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company noticed a spike in power usage from a local company and decided to contact them to arrange a visit to resolve any issues it might have.

"Mr Zhao, our system shows that your company's reactive power adjustment electricity expenses were higher in the first quarter. We would like to visit for an on-site inspection of the reactive power compensation device. Do you have time?" A staff member from State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company said that when they called the company head.

Located in the Hangzhou Bay Economic Development Zone, the Zhejiang Yongjian New Material Technology company, is involved in the research and precision processing of metal materials. It possesses high-precision equipment such as CNC lathes and laser cutting machines, achieving cutting precision within two microns, which means it has stringent requirements for power stability and continuity.

Adhering to the customer-centered service concept, on April 21, the power supply service personnel from State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company visited Yongjian to provide guidance on electricity optimization and conduct equipment inspections. Upon arrival at the company, the power supply service team presented an electricity optimization report to the production manager, surnamed Zhao and conducted an in-depth analysis of the first-quarter electricity usage, identifying the reasons for the high reactive power adjustment electricity expenses. The staff members then provided crucial insights for cost control to the company.

"Your electricity analysis is very timely. The metal processing industry is facing challenges this year and needs to reduce costs and increase efficiency," Zhao said.

Subsequently, the power company's staff members swiftly carried out equipment inspections. In the distribution room, they inspected key equipment such as the high-voltage incoming cabinet, reactive power compensation devices and low-voltage outgoing lines. They used infrared thermometers to measure the temperature of the main transformer and cable trenches, assessed the equipment's operational status based on data, and advised the company to switch on/off the reactive power compensation device promptly and reasonably. After completing the inspection of the distribution room, both parties proceeded to the production line, focusing on temperature measurements of the power distribution box and identifying potential hazards in the lines. The staff members assisted the company in ensuring the safety of production electricity usage.

In the future, State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company said it will establish a coordinated equipment maintenance mechanism with the company, while also intensifying visits and research on foreign-funded enterprises, foreign trade enterprises and key enterprises to understand their energy optimization needs under the current foreign trade situation. They will tailor in-depth electricity analysis reports to help companies reduce electricity costs, provide reliable power support for the production and regional economic development, and strive to secure the all-around electricity service provision.
