Top political adviser meets with Vietnamese official

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met on Thursday in Beijing with Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and vice-chairwoman and secretary-general of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

Wang, who is also chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, said that China is willing to work with Vietnam to vigorously promote the building of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future that carries strategic significance.

He expressed the CPPCC National Committee's commitment to work with the VFF Central Committee to contribute to promoting China-Vietnam friendship and strengthening people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

The Vietnamese official talked about President Xi Jinping's state visit to Vietnam last week, saying that the visit holds historical significance and is bound to lead to greater developments in bilateral relations.

She said that the VFF Central Committee is ready to enhance exchanges and mutual learning with the CPPCC National Committee to actively contribute to the building of the China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

China, Venezuela agree to consolidate cooperation

Vice-President Han Zheng met on Thursday with Venezuelan Vice-President Delcy Rodriguez in Beijing.

Han said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the all-weather strategic partnership between China and Venezuela has continuously reached new levels.

China firmly supports the Venezuelan government and people in pursuing a development path suited to their national conditions, and is willing to work with Venezuela to deliver on the common understandings between the two heads of state, consolidate and develop the traditional friendship, and continuously improve bilateral cooperation, Han added.

Noting that China is playing a key role in maintaining world peace and development in the current international situation, Rodriguez said that Venezuela is ready to consolidate and deepen cooperation with China in various fields.
