BRI brings new opportunities for Latin America
Francisco Cafiero, former secretary of Defense for International Affairs in the Ministry of Defense of Argentina, has long valued China as a "very important country" in global affairs. Over the years, he has dedicated himself to understanding Chinese culture, politics and history.
As a representative of the Argentina's government, Cafiero participated in the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Belt and Road Cooperation. He remarked, "The Belt and Road Initiative brings up a lot of opportunities for countries like Argentina. We were very happy to sign that agreement."
Highlighting the recently inaugurated Chancay Port in Peru, he noted that its development under the Belt and Road Initiative has made it one of the largest ports on the Pacific coast of Latin America, poised to drive economic growth.
