Top legislator meets with deputy chairman of Russian State Duma

Zhao Leji, China's top legislator, met with Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Alexander Babakov in Beijing on Tuesday.

Zhao, chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, said that China stands ready to work with Russia to provide firm mutual support, deepen mutual political trust, expand practical cooperation, practice genuine multilateralism, and make the international order more just and equitable.

The NPC is willing to work with the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation to implement the important consensus reached by their two heads of state, strengthen communication and exchanges, share experience in legislation and supervision, and provide a legal guarantee for bilateral cooperation, Zhao said.

Babakov said that Russia-China relations have continued to produce fruitful results under the guidance of the two heads of state, adding that the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the NPC to contribute to the growth of bilateral ties.

Top political adviser holds talks with Uzbek presidential adviser

Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, met on Tuesday in Beijing with Sardor Umurzakov, the adviser on special assignments to the president of Uzbekistan.

Wang said that China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, advance the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road, and push forward the construction of a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.

Umurzakov congratulated China on the successful convening of its annual two sessions, noting that his country pays close attention to China's economic and social development achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

Uzbekistan stands ready to make new progress in bilateral relations and is willing to learn from China's experiences in industrialization, poverty alleviation and scientific and technological development, the official added.

China, Italy pledge to deepen relationship, strengthen cooperation

Vice-President Han Zheng met with Italian Senate President Ignazio La Russa in Beijing on Tuesday.

Han said that last year, the two countries' leaders held successful meetings and reached an important consensus, pointing out the direction for the development of China-Italy relations.

Noting that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, Han said that China is ready to work with Italy to develop a more mature, stable, open and mutually beneficial relationship with a strategic and long-term perspective, to bring more benefits to the two peoples.

China is willing to deepen cooperation with Italy in fields such as economy, trade, tourism, culture, education and sports, and push for more tangible results, Han added.

La Russa said that through this visit, he could fully feel the vitality and achievements of China's development. Italy is willing to strengthen all-around friendly cooperation with China so that the two ancient civilizations can make new contributions to world peace and development, he added.
