Xi signs orders to revise military rules
Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission, has signed orders to publish three regulations on the military's interior order, code of conduct and military formation.
The revised rules, which will take effect from April 1, are designed to fully transform the country's military into world-class armed forces, focusing on combat readiness and addressing the concerns of the armed forces.
The regulations on the military's interior order are revised to improve the management of military personnel in matters such as soldiers' appearance and conduct, leave-taking and military training.
The revision to the military code of conduct refines the rules to award the excellent, punish violators and streamline relevant procedures.
The revised regulations on military formation are added with detailed codes of practice concerning military parades.
The revisions to the regulations prioritize combat readiness as the foremost duty, with a fundamental orientation of preparing for and engaging in warfare.
Top political adviser stresses strengthening IP rights protection
China's top political adviser Wang Huning on Friday called for efforts from the country's political advisers to promote the protection of intellectual property rights.
Wang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, made the remarks while presiding over a biweekly consultation session of the national committee.
Wang stressed that promoting IP rights protection is necessary to realize the goal of building China into a modern socialist country in all respects.
He called on political advisers to make proposals concerning the establishment of an efficient and comprehensive IP rights management mechanism, strengthening law enforcement and judicial measures for IP rights protection, and improving institutions and mechanisms favorable to all-around innovation.
Several political advisers also spoke at the session, highlighting the role of IP rights in promoting innovative development and the importance of enhancing the rule of law in IP rights protection.
