4th TCTCP established: boosting standards for tropical agriculture
Over 100 representatives from major research institutes, universities, quality inspection agencies, leading enterprises and industry associations in the tropical provinces gathered for the Reorganization Conference of the Technical Committee for Standardization of Tropical Crops and Products of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
The event, held on Dec 28 in Haikou, Hainan province, marked the establishment of the 4th TCTCP. Xie Jianghui, deputy director of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, was appointed the committee's chairman.
During the conference, Wang Linchang, deputy inspector of the Bureau of State Farms at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, commended the TCTCP's accomplishments since its inception in 1991 in setting competitive standards for China's tropical agricultural products. He highlighted the committee's role in developing a robust standard system for tropical crops and products in China, leading to the creation of internationally competitive standards that enhance the quality and market competitiveness of Chinese tropical agricultural products.
