Former Chengdu Football Association executive jailed for eight years

Liu Gang, former full-time vice-president of the Chengdu Football Association, was sentenced to eight years in prison and fined 700,000 yuan ($96,400) for corruption and bribery by the Tongcheng People's Court in Hubei province on Thursday.
The property Liu obtained from corruption and bribery shall be recovered and turned over to the State treasury, according to the court ruling.
On Aug 20, the same court sentenced Gu Jianmin, former president and secretary general of the association, to six years in prison with a fine of 400,000 yuan.
