MACAO -- Ho Iat-seng, chief executive of China's Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), extended warm congratulations to Sam Hou-fai on his official appointment by the Central People's Government.
According to a statement from the Macao SAR government's Information Bureau on Friday, Sam served as the president of the Court of Final Appeal since Macao's return to the motherland, dedicating himself to upholding the constitutional order established by the Constitution and Basic Law and ensuring long-term stability in Macao society.
The statement said Sam's being overwhelmingly elected as the sixth-term chief executive of the Macao SAR reflected broad recognition and support from all sectors of Macao society.
