Procuratorate orders arrest of former senior Guizhou political advisor

BEIJING -- Chen Yan, a former senior political advisor in Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been arrested for suspected bribe-taking and abuse of power, the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) said in a statement on Monday.
The case was handed over to prosecutors for examination and prosecution following the conclusion of an investigation by the National Commission of Supervision, the SPP said.
Chen was formerly a member of the leading Party members group of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and vice chairman of the committee.
Handling of the case is underway.
