1,256 mainland scenic spots offer free admission to Taiwan compatriots


The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council said on Monday that 1,256 Chinese mainland scenic spots, including Beijing's Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace, offer free admission to Taiwan compatriots who apply for mainland travel permits for the first time within one year.
The initiative aims to encourage Taiwan compatriots to travel to the mainland, with the approaching National Day holiday expected to bring a surge in mainland tourism.
Chen Binhua, a spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of said, "We warmly welcome our Taiwan compatriots to visit the mainland during the golden autumn season to enjoy the beautiful landscapes, explore the splendid Chinese culture, experience local customs, and witness the progress and development of the mainland. We believe that everyone will broaden their horizons and find the trip rewarding."
