Chinese theater commander attends Indo-Pacific Chiefs of Defense in Hawaii

At the invitation of the United States, Wu Yanan, Commander of the Southern Theater Command of the People's Liberation Army, led a delegation to attend the Indo-Pacific Chiefs of Defense in Hawaii from Wednesday to Friday, the Ministry of National Defense said on Monday.
During the conference, Wu engaged in bilateral meetings and interactive exchanges with representatives from countries including Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, the United Kingdom, France and the US, the ministry said in a statement.
Wu held a meeting with Samuel Paparo, Commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, where they candidly exchanged views on issues of mutual concern and implemented the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, the statement added.
