Huainan-Shanghai UHV AC Demonstration Project operating safely for 4,000 days

During this summer's peak load period, the Wuhu Station's Hu'an double-line reached a record-breaking maximum load of 8.9 million kilowatts. Huainan Station dispatched a peak total load of 5.59 million kilowatts, with a single main transformer's maximum load reaching 1.71 million kilowatts. Amid the challenges posed by high temperatures, heavy loads, and severe convective weather, the two ultra-high voltage (UHV) stations meticulously devised a power supply enhancement plan for peak load periods. They consistently enhanced the operational and maintenance support for their equipment. Beyond routine human-machine inspections and specialized checks on critical equipment, they employed various methods like manual open-box inspections, infrared defect tracking, and drone inspections to ensure all-encompassing health monitoring of their equipment. This proactive approach enabled them to promptly identify and swiftly address multiple malfunctions, thereby ensuring the power grid's secure and stable operation during the peak load period.
