Tongbai county power supplier implements flood prevention measures to ensure reliable power supply"
As autumn approaches, the power supplier in Tongbai county of Nanyang, Central China's Henan province, has carried out a series of measures to prevent flood damage and ensure the normal operation of local grid.
At the 110 kV Tianyuan Substation, for example, workers are busy cleaning up the gutter debris, as well as documenting other potential hazards.
The State Grid's Tongbai Power Supply Co said it has dispatched staff to inspect the cable trenches, drainage systems, and key equipment such as transformer bases at 21 substations across the county.
Meanwhile, efforts have been made to check the electrical rooms for roof leaks and the courtyard walls for cracks.
The company also said inspections have been carried out on all the local power supply facilities, especially the utility poles near rivers, ponds, reservoirs and valleys.
Besides, the company has kept a close eye on local weather conditions and prepared emergency supplies in advance accordingly.
"With all the preventive measures in place, we are well poised to ensure a reliable power supply amid this year's flood season," said the company.
