Dates announced for second spaceflight-themed music festival
The China National Space Administration has announced the dates for the second spaceflight-themed pop music event to be held next month in Beijing's southwestern suburb of Fangshan.
The two-day Moon Echo musical festival will open on Sept 15, the first day of this year's three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, at the Changyang Music Theme Park.
The music festival will feature pop singers and bands from China, the United States and the Netherlands.
The event aims to spread spirit and culture of the nation's space cause and inspire young people to take part in space activities, according to the organizers.
The first spaceflight-themed pop music event, the two-day Cosmic Echo, was held last September in the Shiyuan Park in Yanqing district.
At least 40,000 music fans attended the event, which starred 16 bands and singers from home and overseas.
