Fatal signboard collapse in Kunming leaves three dead
A shop signboard fell on Monday night in Kunming, Yunnan province, killing three and injuring seven, Xinhua News Agency reported.
At 9:58 pm, a signboard fell off a roadside shop on Jinjiang Road in Panlong district, injuring ten people. They were sent to the hospital for treatment, where three of them died despite rescue efforts, according to Panlong district's emergency management bureau.
After the incident, professionals from Panlong district's emergency management, public security, fire-fighting and health units, along with staff from the local sub-district office, rushed to the scene to provide on-site rescue and treatment.
The Panlong district has set up a joint investigation team to conduct on-site inspections and investigations. The individuals responsible for the incident have been taken into police custody.
