Changzhou hosts 'So Swiss! in Changzhou' economic forum


Changzhou, Jiangsu province, recently hosted the "So Swiss! in Changzhou" event. The forum was a platform for discussing multinational enterprise development and deepening economic and trade cooperation between the city and Switzerland.
In her speech at the event, Changzhou Mayor Sheng Lei emphasized the city's commitment to openness, inclusiveness and win-win cooperation.
She highlighted the emergence of exemplary foreign-funded enterprises through exchanges with Switzerland and the establishment of the China-Switzerland (Changzhou) International Innovation Cooperation Park as a valuable platform for economic and trade cooperation.
"Changzhou is keen to invite enterprises from various countries, including Switzerland, to invest in the city while also encouraging local businesses to explore opportunities in Switzerland for study and investment," she said.
Jürg Burri, Swiss Ambassador to China, commended Changzhou's excellent business environment and the positive contributions of Swiss enterprises to the city's economic development.
The "So Swiss! in Changzhou" event aims to strengthen cooperation between China and Switzerland across different sectors within the framework of the China-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement, he added.
The event celebrated the official launch of the Swiss Center Changzhou in the Changzhou High-Tech District.
As Asia's largest Swiss business cluster, the center will organize Swiss-related activities and facilitate the landing of high-quality projects from Switzerland and the German-speaking region. Its goal is to attract over 10 small- and medium-sized Swiss enterprises within five years.
Changzhou has become one of the cities with the highest concentration of Swiss enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta, boasting 42 Swiss investment enterprises.
The China-Switzerland (Changzhou) International Industrial Innovation Park has attracted 25 leading international industrial projects, with a total investment exceeding $700 million.
