Beijing to hold high-level security conference

The 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum, a high-level security conference, will be held in Beijing from Sept 12 to 14, China's Defense Ministry announced on Friday.
Zhang Xiaogang, the ministry's spokesman, told in an online news briefing that so far, the Chinese side has sent invitations to official delegates from over 100 countries and international organizations, as well as to security experts and scholars at home and abroad.
"The theme of this year's forum is Promoting Peace for a Shared Future," he said.
"The preparation for the forum is well underway. We welcome delegations from different countries to attend and both domestic and foreign journalists to cover this event," Zhang added.
