Top legislator makes goodwill visit to Uzbekistan
Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, made an official goodwill visit to Uzbekistan from Saturday to Tuesday.
In Tashkent, the Uzbek capital, Zhao met with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and held talks with Tanzila Narbayeva, chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan, as well as Nurdinjon Ismoilov, speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting with Mirziyoyev, Zhao said that China is willing to work with Uzbekistan to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and promote the construction of a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future.
In separate talks with Narbayeva and Ismoilov, Zhao emphasized that high-level political mutual trust is the cornerstone for the stable development of bilateral relations. He introduced the China-proposed Global Civilization Initiative as well as the country's technological innovation and foreign-related legislative efforts.
Top political adviser meets with Bangladeshi PM
Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China's top political advisory body, met on Tuesday in Beijing with visiting Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Wang said that China and Bangladesh have established a model of friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation between countries, based on mutual respect and equality.
China is willing to deepen practical cooperation in various fields with Bangladesh to continuously elevate their strategic cooperative partnership to new heights and deliver more benefits to the people of both countries, he said.
Hasina said that she has visited China six times and the friendship between the two countries is enduring and solid.
Bangladesh admires China's development achievements, she said, adding that her country will continue to adhere to the one-China principle and keep deepening comprehensive cooperation with China.
China, Thailand vow to boost cooperation, advance ties
Vice-President Han Zheng met with Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa in Beijing on Tuesday.
Han said that China and Thailand are good neighbors, friends, relatives and partners.
Noting that next year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Han said that China is willing to work with Thailand to strengthen high-level exchanges, deepen regional cooperation and advance high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
The Thai foreign minister said that Thailand and China are partners who trust each other, and Thailand-China relations have entered a new era.
Thailand is willing to take the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations as an opportunity to deepen cooperation in various fields with China and continuously advance bilateral relations, he said.
