Man arrested after stabbing incident in Jiangsu
A stabbing incident took place at a bus stop of Xindi Center on Tayuan Road in Suzhou High-tech Zone, Jiangsu province, on Monday at around 4 pm, has resulted in injuries to three individuals, including one Chinese national and two Japanese nationals.
According to the official WeChat account of the Suzhou High-tech Zone Sub-bureau, its patrol police promptly responded to the scene and apprehended the suspect surnamed Zhou, a 52-year-old man who is currently unemployed and recently arrived in Suzhou from out of town.
The police immediately transported the injured to receive medical treatment. As of Tuesday afternoon, the Chinese national victim remains in critical condition due to sustaining severe injuries while attempting to prevent the suspect from committing the crime and is still undergoing lifesaving treatment.
One of the Japanese national victims is receiving medical care and is not in a life-threatening condition, while the other Japanese national victim was discharged on the same day, police said.
Zhou has been placed under criminal detention. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and his criminal actions will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law and regulations, according to the official Wechat account of the police.
