Deputy head of Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee under investigation

Zhang Jianchun, a deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, has been placed under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation for serious violations of Party disciplines and laws, as announced by the country's top anti-graft watchdogs on Friday.
The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision revealed the investigation in a statement.
Zhang, 59, a native of Shandong province, started working in 1984 and joined the Party in 1987.
He once served as the deputy head of the Organization Department of CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, deputy head of the Organization Department of CPC Central Committee.
He became the deputy head of the Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee in 2020.
