Trade union body earmarks funds for flood-hit regions

The All-China Federation of Trade Unions has allocated a fund of 3 million yuan ($413,000) to some southern provinces and regions hit by torrential rains and floods.
According to a release by the federation on Friday, the fund is allocated to the federation's branches in Fujian, Guangdong provinces and the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region for emergency rescue work. The funds will also be used to visit the local workers in flood-stricken areas and the rescuers.
As of Thursday, four people were dead and four missing in Guangdong due to torrential rains and geological hazards, reported Xinhua News Agency on Friday morning.
