State Council to oversee Henan University fire investigation

The State Council's Work Safety Commission announced on Sunday that it decided to supervise and oversee the investigation into a fire incident that occurred at Henan University on Thursday. The incident, which engulfed the university's historic auditorium, damaged around 90 years of history for the university.
In a statement, the commission said that it would dispatch a supervisory team to Central China's Henan province to guide the provincial investigation team's work, emphasizing that the fire had "significant impact".
The commission urged the investigation team in Henan to promptly determine the cause of the accident in a scientific and rigorous manner, and to hold those responsible accountable in accordance with the law and regulations.
