University sorry for fire at landmark building

Henan University in central China's Henan province apologized for a fire that engulfed its century-old grand auditorium on Thursday night, according to a statement issued on Friday morning.
The blaze happened at about 11:20 pm on Thursday when the building was under repair. The fire was put out without any casualty by Friday morning, said the statement.
The auditorium, located in the university's oldest campus in Kaifeng, Henan, was completed in 1934 and was an important landmark building.
The university said it will make every effort to minimize the loss.
