Vice-president meets with Slovenia's deputy PM

Vice-President Han Zheng met on Wednesday in Beijing with Slovenia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon.

Han said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Slovenia, the two countries have enjoyed healthy and stable development in their relationship.

Noting that China highly values the development of friendly cooperation with Slovenia, Han expressed the country's willingness to work with Slovenia to enhance bilateral exchanges, consolidate political mutual trust, continuously expand pragmatic cooperation, strengthen multilateral coordination and achieve common development.

Slovenia is a good friend and partner of China within the European Union, and it is believed that Slovenia will play a positive and constructive role in promoting China-EU relations, he said.

Fajon, who started her six-day official visit to China on Tuesday, said that Slovenia attaches importance to developing its relationship with China, and has consistently regarded the one-China policy as the cornerstone of its relations with China.

Slovenia is willing to further deepen cooperation with China in various fields, including politics, the economy, trade, culture and multilateral affairs, she said.
