Guizhou tea sector creates over 3.2m jobs

The tea industry in Southwest China's Guizhou province has created jobs for over 3.2 million people, including some 2.75 million farmers, according to the 16th Guizhou Tea Expo that opened on Monday. In 2023, the tea cultivation area in the province was about 450,000 hectares.

Shanghai establishes innovation center

The Shanghai Synthetic Biology Innovation Center was unveiled on Sunday in a bid to promote innovation and development of this "future industry" of the city. The center will cooperate with domestic and foreign scientific research institutions, nonprofit organizations and leading enterprises to carry out global work in the field of synthetic biology.
