China launches AI campaign to empower education
BEIJING -- The Ministry of Education recently launched an artificial intelligence (AI) campaign to boost education.
The campaign focuses on four specific moves, which include launching a column for "AI learning" on the country's smart education platform, in which experts will discuss and teach AI technologies, and building an international exchange platform for digital education to contribute a Chinese approach to AI education.
The campaign aims to promote the integrated application of teaching and learning through AI, improve the digital education literacy and skills of the public, and standardize the scientific ethics of AI applications.
The ministry has also decided to start a pilot program to apply the national smart education platform for primary and secondary schools in multiple regions such as Guangdong, Hainan, Xizang, Qinghai, Ningxia, and Xinjiang.
