Xi, Dominica president exchange congratulatory messages on 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations

President Xi Jinping and President of the Commonwealth of Dominica Sylvanie Burton exchanged congratulatory messages on Saturday on the 20th anniversary of China-Dominica bilateral diplomatic relations.

Describing Dominica as an important cooperation partner of China in the Caribbean region, Xi said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties 20 years ago, bilateral relations have maintained a high level of development, with stronger political mutual trust, fruitful practical cooperation and deeper friendship between the two peoples.

Xi said he highly values the development of bilateral relations, and stands ready to work with President Burton to take the 20th anniversary of the ties as a new starting point to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields, promote high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, and jointly build an even better future for bilateral relations.

Burton said the Dominican side cherishes its friendship with China, appreciates China's support and assistance, and is willing to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation to jointly tackle global challenges.

Meanwhile, Premier Li Qiang exchanged congratulatory messages with his Dominican counterpart, Roosevelt Skerrit. Li said that China is willing to make joint efforts with Dominica to take the anniversary as an opportunity to deepen practical cooperation in various fields.

Skerrit said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties 20 years ago, Dominica and China have seen mutual respect and mutual understanding, and China's support and cooperation have made important contributions to Dominica's economic and social development.

Book on Xi's financial work discourses released

A book by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on financial work has been published by the Central Party Literature Press.

The book, compiled by the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee, contains 324 segments of discourses extracted from over 120 important documents, including reports, instructions and speeches, delivered by Xi from November 2012 to February 2024. Some of these discourses are being publicly released for the first time, a statement on the book's publication said on Sunday. The book is available nationwide.

Since the 18th CPC National Congress in 2012, Xi has made a series of significant discourses on financial work, which constitute an important part of the Xi Jinping Thought on Economy, the statement said.

The publishing of the book is of great significance in unswervingly advancing the path of financial development with Chinese characteristics on the new journey in the new era, promoting high-quality financial development and accelerating the construction of a financially strong country, the statement said.
