Shiqian Maolong Festival: 78 dragons celebrate the Chinese New Year
Tens of thousands of people enjoyed a grand dragon dance show recently in Shiqian county, Tongren of Guizhou province.
The event featured 78 dragon lantern teams and 10 intangible cultural heritage teams, who gathered to celebrate the Shiqian Maolong Festival on Tuesday.
At the dragon dance scene, each dragon lantern team showcased their skills to the beat of drums. They soared, circled and swayed, displaying their splendid dance techniques.
Throughout the performances, dragons appeared and disappeared in yellow smoke clouds, sometimes surging like the tide, sometimes soaring through the clouds and mist, as if real dragons were dancing.
After multiple rounds of heated competition, 10 awards for lantern-making and 50 performance awards were eventually given out.
