Capital airport handles over 1 million international passenger trips in one month
Beijing Capital International Airport handled 1.05 million international passenger trips last month, making a significant increase - over eight times compared with last year, according to the airport on Thursday.
The peak was reached on Jan 28, with over 40,000 international trips made, setting a new record in nearly four years.
With the Spring Festival holiday approaching, people's desire for international travel is expected to continue rising. Data revealed by the airport showed that during this year's Spring Festival, the number of searches for international outbound flights from the Beijing Capital International Airport has surged by over 2.5 times compared to last year.
The most popular destinations are Asian cities, including Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
The airport's international network has resumed to 86 international and regional destinations across 48 countries.
Beijing Capital International Airport, one of the country's busiest airports, handled 5.43 million passenger trips last month.
The recovery has showcased the continuous recovery of China's civil aviation industry from the COVID-19 epidemic.
As the Spring Festival approaches, along with the recent favorable visa policies, more people usually consider traveling abroad. The number of international trips are expected to increase during the holiday.
