A 58-year-old man and his 92-year-old mother, who are on a world tour, got a special Chinese New Year gift from a festive event on Friday, the first day of the holiday travel season, at the Beijing West Railway Station.
The railway station, a busy transport hub, offered passengers handwritten "fu", a character meaning good fortune.
The well-traveled duo, having visited over 60 countries, was en route to Yinchuan, capital city of Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, on another train to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
