Taizhou sees vehicle pileups amid rain and snow

Due to rain, snow, and freezing weather, a series of traffic accidents involving multiple vehicles occurred on Monday evening in Taizhou, Zhejiang province.
The Anran Overpass in Jiaojiang district saw a rear-end collision that resulted in damage to over 40 vehicles. Another accident on the Luzetai Elevated Expressway caused damage to approximately 20 cars.
According to the traffic police department, no casualties have been reported in the accidents. After on-site emergency management, all personnel at the scene have been safely evacuated, and the damaged vehicles are being towed away in an orderly manner.
The Taizhou Public Security Bureau, in conjunction with the traffic and emergency rescue departments, promptly carried out follow-up work in response to the accidents.
Zhu Hongwei, the political commissar of the expressway traffic police detachment of the Taizhou Public Security Bureau, said that the roads involved had been temporarily closed to ensure the smooth handling of the accidents.
