Power projects see an increase of 39.6% year-on-year

Major power generation enterprises in China have completed an investment of 771.3 billion yuan ($107.85 billion) in power projects during the first 11 months of 2023, a year-on-year increase of 39.6 percent, according to the National Energy Administration.

Among them, investments in solar power generation have reached 320.9 billion yuan, up by 60.5 percent year-on-year, while nuclear power amounted to 77.4 billion yuan, up 45.3 percent year-on-year. Investment in wind power reached 202 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 33.7 percent, it said.

China's installed power generation capacity surged by 13.6 percent, amounting to 2.85 billion kilowatts by the end of November from a year earlier, the NEA said. The installed capacity of solar power soared 49.9 percent to 560 million kilowatts while that of wind power rose 17.6 percent to about 410 million kilowatts, it said.
