Jining launches intl communication center

Jining, a culturally-rich city in East China's Shandong province, inaugurated its international communication center on Dec 26.

The center will serve as an international communication platform that handles content production, management of overseas social media accounts, collaboration with international media groups, talent cultivation and the development of communication brands.

At the inaugural ceremony, Jining signed strategic cooperation framework agreements with news media groups, including the Business Development Department of China Daily, to boost international communication.

Jining, by virtue of being the birthplace of ancient Chinese philosophers Confucius and Mencius, has made great strides in expanding the international influence of Chinese civilizations, and stimulating the vitality of cultural innovation and creativity to become a center for cultural exchange and mutual learning.

In recent years, the city has leveraged its cultural resources, developed international exchange brands and hosted cultural events such as Nishan Forum on World Civilizations and China (Qufu) International Confucius Cultural Festival, vice-mayor of Jining Dong Bing said at the inaugural ceremony.

The city has created a Jining English Global Communication Platform featuring Jining's English-language website and the "Jining of China" page on overseas social media platforms with the support of China Daily, both of which have enhanced the city's global influence.
