Underground heat pipe breaks in Beijing; repairs underway

An underground heating pipeline broke early Friday beneath a major street in Beijing's Dongdan area, causing hot steam to escape and impacting local traffic.
Traffic police were working at the site to maintain order.
Employees from the heating company are inspecting the location of the leak and working to restore the system.
No injuries have been reported, the district authority said. Traffic was expected to be back to normal quickly.
