Baota fire and rescue station named Role Model of the Times

The Baota fire and rescue station in Yan'an, northwestern province of Shaanxi, was granted the title of Role Model of the Times by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee on Thursday.
It's a commemoration for their bravery of performing rescue missions in fires and floods, also for good services when helping the public.
The Baota fire and rescue station teamed up in 1973 and now has 32 staff members, as reported by the China Central Television. In the past 50 years, the station has taken about 12,500 missions with over 3,200 people rescued. Their rescue operations have protected public and personal properties worth 19.74 billion yuan ($2.77 billion) from damages during the past five decades.
The station was granted with other State-level honors for their extraordinary performance by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Emergency Management and the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee in recent years, as reported by the People's Daily.
