Debut Wenzhou to Madrid flight takes to skies
A total of 194 passengers took the debut MU261 flight operated by China Eastern Airlines from Zhejiang province's Wenzhou to Madrid on Wednesday.
The direct flight from Wenzhou, a renowned hometown for overseas Chinese to the Spanish capital Madrid will be operated every Wednesday and Saturday, and a return flight from Madrid will take off on the same day (local time), according to the Shanghai-based carrier.
The Wenzhou-Madrid flight is the second regular passenger flight China Eastern launched at the Wenzhou Longwan International Airport.
Eyeing the rising demand for overseas Chinese from Wenzhou and nearby areas to visit their relatives in their hometowns and do business back in China, the flight is hoped to better serve the economic and cultural communications and exchanges between the two nations.
